1. Thank you for all your well wishes, thoughts and prayers for my family & town during the storm. We got our power back Saturday night and the remainder of the town got it back yesterday. Our town was hit hard, 35 houses got hit by trees, but as far as I know, no one was injured. I knew, but rediscovered, that a headlamp, crank/solar radio, candles and dry wood are very important during a storm.Â
Preparation is key to not being miserable and luckily we were prepared and weathered the storm with only slight inconveniences. Time for me to replenish the candles.
We are so grateful to all of the utility companies and workers (and there were a lot of them) who came to our rescue. They came from down south and Canada. To the families of these workers, thank you for not having your spouses at home for so long. I know, as a wife of someone in the first responder world, that you are left on your own many times during storms and rescue. You are strong, independent and
resourceful. I see you and thank you.
2. I'll be live over on Facebook tomorrow at 2:30 pm EST showing you how to make two different types of pumpkins that will look great as autumn decor or as part of your Thanksgiving table. If you can't watch me live, you can always watch the replay.  https://www.facebook.com/mailsomethingpretty/
