January 2022 Newsletter - Christine Josti, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
2022. Sounds like a year that should be way in the future. It's going to take me a little while to get the hang of saying it. I wish you a happy, healthy and (new) normal year!!!!!
I was one of those kids who really enjoyed the first days of school. I looked forward to covering textbooks with brown bags, going over the syllabi and hearing all about the "nuts & bolts", as one of my teachers used to say, of what we were going to learn that year. It was a clean start of good things to come. It's the same with the New Year. I'm looking forward to a fresh start, a (hopefully) clean craft
space and new things to come in the year. But this time, I am the one planning and going over the "nuts & bolts". This year, I will be offering a few new things (and some returning favorites). I hope you are looking forward to them as much as I am.
Cheers!
2022 Occasions Catalog is LIVE
I feel like I write this every time a new catalog launches, but every time it's true.....you are going to love this new catalog!!!! The Occasion catalogs are designed for the more intermediate to advanced stamper/crafters (but beginners can use them too). Project samples have a few more layers, techniques and use more tools/products than those in the Annual catalog. This catalog is full of great inspiration and
challenges, for some of the projects. There are MANY options for 3D projects with what's inside.
I would love to hear which products you fall in love with, which ones you want to see more samples made with and which ones you want to learn how to use.

In case you are new to Sale-a-bration (happening during January & February), here are the details:

- Host - Host a party, gather some orders together or place your own $300 order and receive the exclusive Calming Camellia stamp set for free (along with all your other free SAB choices).
This month, I am celebrating my 15th Anniversary with Stampin’ Up!!! I signed up during Sale-a-bration way back in 2007. That's me with CEO Sara Douglas three years ago, at the last in-person Stampin' Up! event has hosted. I can't wait to return to in-person SU events! There's nothing like them.
Crystal is the 15th Anniversary gift, so I am gifting YOU some “crystal” gems with any $75 order placed in January. It’s a double win for you because you can also choose a free SAB item with your order too.
If you join SU & my team in January, you’ll also receive a pack of “crystal” gems as a celebratory gift from me.
January 20th - Deadline to sign up for “Play Ball” Class (it’s all to-go, no in-person). More details will be posted on my blog & emails very soon.
The "Play Ball" Class includes: Your Biggest Fan stamp set, “Fan” Baker’s twine triple pack, Stars adhesive embellishments, 1/4 pack of Hey Sports Fan Designer Series paper, Raffle ticket to support the Dickinson College Softball team (my daughter’s college softball team) & supplies to create all the projects and accompanying videos.
Class fee - $60 local pick up or $69 for priority mail delivery.
Sneak Peek of what's happening in February:
February Special - All month - In lieu of an in-person Open House, I am duplicating what I offered last year. Spend $100 in February and in addition to your SAB benefits, you’ll also receive a free online class (focusing on the Cactus Cuties bundle), a spool of new ribbon & adhesive gems*.
*I’m not specifying which ones in case backorder issues arise. I will choose what is available.
If you join my team in February, you’ll also receive the free online class.
The products you will get as part of the "Play Ball" class.
Stay tuned for project photos. Class signups by January 20.
I read this book many years ago (and loved it). It's a great autobiography by Julia Child, telling of her new married life in France. She and her husband Paul never sent Christmas cards. Instead, they made a very big deal of Valentines Day. They made their own Valentine
cards, which they sent to many family & friends, and hosted dinner parties celebrating the special day.
If you didn't have time to make or send your Christmas (or New Years) cards this year, be like Julia Child. Focus on Valentines Day. There's not as much pressure to get these cards out to family & friends because they are unexpected. Who knows, you may adopt this same tradition as the Childs. Keep reading to the end for a bunch of Valentine samples and a Valentine's card
tutorial.
Stampin' Up! has some great Valentine product choices for all ages:
Last Day for Paper Share Sign Ups
Today is the last day to sign up for my Paper Share. I'm placing the order tomorrow and will cut and label all the papers once they arrive to me. Paper Shares are great ways to get a sampling of all the papers without the expense of buying everything. Once you see (& use) all
the papers, you can decide if you want more of an entire pack. Sometimes it's good to get some papers you would not ordinarily order - gets you out of your crafting comfort zone.
Light the Candles Card Kit
A new birthday kit is being added to the Kits Collection tomorrow!
Kits in the Kits Collection are all-inclusive, meaning everything you need (including an acrylic block) is included in the kit. These kits are perfect for beginners, those lacking in storage space, for on-the-go projects or if want a project without having to create a design (or do the cutting).
This Light the Candles kit features bright colors, sparkly embellishments, and a simple peek-through technique. These cards are perfect for wishing the happiest of birthdays, or to use as invitations to an exciting birthday bash! Now is the perfect time to stock up on birthday cards to use throughout the year.
- Kit contains enough supplies to create 8 cards—4 each of 2 designs—and 8 coordinating envelopes.
- Includes printed card bases, printed die cuts, adhesive, embellishments, and a clear block.
- Includes an exclusive stamp set and a Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Spot. (photo of stamps above)
- Finished card size: 5-1/2" x 4-1/4"
- Coordinating colors: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Magenta Madness, Mango Melody, Night of Navy
Visit the Kits Collection page to see all of the kits, both card and project kits. This new birthday kit will be added to the list tomorrow.
Valentine Paper Pumpkin Kit
We all know that roses are red and violets are blue—it’s time that love-themed cards got an upgrade! The Kisses & Hugs Paper Pumpkin Kit will help you express that forever kind of love with heart-shaped cards that would make Cupid jealous.
The Kisses & Hugs kit is not bound to just Valentine’s Day, it works for all love occasions year-round like anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, or those “just because” days. 10 triple heart fold cards and envelopes.
Sign up for Paper Pumpkin monthly kits HERE
Add On Treat Boxes - These coordinated treat boxes are not included in this month’s kit and are only available for purchase separately as an add-on online starting January. 25 You must be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to purchase and they are only available while supplies last. Includes 20 gold-foil treat boxes, heart tags and gold cording.
These card samples all use the new Sweet Talk Designer Paper. I love the addition of Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green & Pool Party to Valentines paper, rather
than the traditional red & pink only. The paper is fun, whimsical (with all the candy patterns), clean and bold - definitely my style. It's good for all ages: youth, tween & teen, young adult & beyond.
These samples were made from a group I belong to. Mine is the top right and the tutorial is below all the pictures. The ladybug stamp set & punch are new and found in the 2022 Occasions catalog.
