April 2022 Newsletter - Christine Josti, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
Less than a Month Left for Last Chance/Retiring items
With the launch of the new catalog upcoming, some of our favorite products must retire in order to make room for the new. If there is anything on your wishlist from this past year, you may want to see if it’s still available and grab it before it disappears forever. Here is a link to all of the items on the Last Chance List. All of them items on this list are while supplies last (& some are on sale up to 50% off) or until May 2.
What I hope to do with my weekly emails, Facebook lives, posts, videos, blog and as a team leader (for those on my stamping team) is to help you with your paper crafting. Help you learn, help you with ideas & inspiration, help you with how-tos, help you love, help you grow and become more confident, help you share
what you make and help you to connect with other paper crafters.
It's helpful to me to know what YOU want to learn, read about, need to know and what your questions are. Everyone is on a different level, has different skill sets and different needs & wants.
I created a survey to help me know how to help you. I would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to answer a few questions. Your answers will help me in my future writings, tutorials, videos, weekly emails, offerings and events. Thank you!!!
SURVEY
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about an upcoming Stampin' Up! event that will be happening (virtually) on June 18. This is a creative only - no business event. Perfect for all stampers, all levels. In my article
I mentioned that you need to be a demonstrator in order to attend this event. I love it when SU staff stamp at events. It's definitely one of the things I most look forward to when I attend SU events. I learn so much (& there are always laughs involved).
By being a demonstrator, you get early access to information/products, demo-only resources, ability to pre-order before anyone else, attend Stampin' Up! only events, purchase your own products at a discount PLUS so much more!!!!!
You can read (or re-read) my article about the Creativity Live event HERE.
If you would like to attend this Creativity Live event (& I hope you do), you must sign up to be a demonstrator and register by April 19.
You can sign up to be a demonstrator HERE.
If you have any questions, I am always here for you. Let's chat on the phone or zoom or send me your questions in an email. I love to talk about and answer questions about what I do (and have happily done it for the last 15 years).
I have written a post with some more details on what it means to be a demonstrator. You can read it HERE.
New 2022/23 Annual Catalogs
I placed an order for a whole bunch of new catalogs and am waiting for them to arrive. Holding one in your hands is (in my opinion) so much better than seeing it online. As of this writing, my copy hasn't arrived yet and I keep checking the
mailbox....This catalog begins on May 3.
Yesterday, I sent out emails to all of those who have placed orders with me in the last year saying a catalog has been ordered for them and will be mailed once they arrive.
If you did not receive this email or haven't ordered with me in the last year and would like your own copy of the catalog, please fill out this catalog request form. Be sure to include your best phone and complete address so I can send it to the right address and
follow up to be sure it arrived safely.
** If you can’t wait anther month to order new products, did you know you can put pre-order products in a Starter Kit? If joining and ordering products early sounds good to you, let me know and I’ll send you some information.
On Friday, Sara Douglass (CEO of Stampin' Up!) and a few of the home office staff created hopeful blue & yellow cards in a live event as a way of raising funds to help Ukraine. Below are the cards they demonstrated. As they were creating the cards, I picked up a few tips. You may want to watch
too.
If you missed the stamping, you can watch it HERE.
On tomorrow's Facebook Live, I'll be making a fun & easy Easter (spring) basket. All you need is a paper cutter & scorer, no special dies needed.
You can watch live on my Facebook Page at 2pm EST or watch the replay anytime, on Facebook or YouTube.
Congratulations to Mary who became the Mystery Host! There were 12 people who "played" and the host benefits rose to the amount of $117 in free products plus one 50% off item.
We will be having more Mystery Host parties in the future. Thank you to all who ordered and entered. There is something special coming in the mail to you as a thank you gift.
The latest addition to the Kits Collection begins tomorrow! Use the Kindness Cards Kit to make cards that encourage and inspire. Kindness is what this kit is all about. Your creations are sure to brighten someone’s day!

As a thank you for filling out my survey (or for reading this far), I'm including an easy card tutorial that can be copied exactly, with different colors and/or if you wanted to step it up a notch, with the all-favorite New Horizons paper as a background layer. I wrote about this fantastic paper few weeks ago. See that post HERE. I think the
New Horizons paper is one of the most popular products in the January - June catalog. You can find thousands of samples of cards & projects using this paper on google.
The Let's Set Sail stamp set & punch bundle will be returning in the 2022/23 Annual Catalog. Perfect for Father's day, graduation and any type of masculine card.
I am lucky to live 7 miles from the ocean. On a recent walk, I noticed some of the boats are returning to the docks. It's nice to see them return after a long winter away. This card reminds me of the ocean and harbor I love to walk around.

Stampin’ Pierce Mat, 126199
Instructions:
- Cut Misty Moonlight cardstock , 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, score in half at 4-1/4”. Use the Bone Folder to get a good crease.
- Cut Real Red cardstock 5 1/4” x 4”. Adhere to card base with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Set aside.
- Cut Basic White cardstock 5” x 3 3/4”.
- Ink the long stamp water image with the Misty Moonlight ink. Stamp off on a scrap of paper. Working on the Stampin’ Pierce Mat, stamp the image on the Basic White cardstock.
- Stamp the mast and hull (one piece) in Misty Moonlight. Stamp one sail in Misty Moonlight, and one sail in Real Red. Stamp the birds in Basic Gray. Stamp the greeting in Real Red. Always stamp with the Pierce mat under your cardstock to give the extra padding for the Photopolymer stamps.
- On a scrap of Basic White cardstock, stamp the mast and hull (one piece) in Misty Moonlight. Stamp one sail in Misty Moonlight, and one sail in Real Red. Note the position of the cutouts on the punch, and stamp accordingly. Punch out the pieces with the punch.
- Using both the Stampin’ Dimensionals and the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere the punched out pieces over the corresponding images on the Basic White cardstock. Then adhere that piece to the front of the card using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
*The blue in the photograph appears to look more like Pacific Point rather than Misty Moonlight. Use any blue you wish.
