Dirty blocks

It's hard to take pictures of clean blocks - ha ha.  I'm pretty happy with the results.  The dishwasher did not remove anything sticky, so I will have to go back with my go-gone to do that.  But all of the ink residue & colorations all washed off.

1.  Simply Shammy, #147042

This is so easy that I feel like it's a hack.  All you need to do is wet the Shammy and rub your stamp (red rubber or photopolymer) on it.  The ink stays in the Shammy.  Your Shammy will become very stained and look "dirty", but it's a sign of good use.  To clean your Shammy, run it under water (I find warm/hot water takes out more of the ink) and squeeze.  Repeat until the water runs clear.  I like to store my Shammy in an old stamp case with one corner open (so mold does not grow).  You can also store in a zip lock bag with either little holes or don't close it all the way.

2.  Stampin' Scrub #126200 & Stampin' Mist #153648 (sold separately)

This is how I first learned to clean my stamps and the mist also conditions them, which is a good thing for their longevity.  There are two sides to the scrub, a wet & dry.  Spray the mist on the wet side and rub your inked stamp on it and then onto the dry side.  All clean & conditioned.  I always use my scrub when I want to wash Staz On off my blocks.  When your wet side becomes too ink filled (not cleaning as well), I run it under hot water to let all the ink drain/run out and then drip dry in the sink.

A few other ways to clean:

- I know people like to use baby wipes, but I don't because they are disposable and create waste.  However, they do work well when you are stamping on the go.

- Bring all your inked stamps to the sink and run water over them.  Let air dry.  I would keep them on the blocks this way so they don't fall into the sink & down the drain!

- If you are using White Ink, I would use soap & water and scrub it off with my hands.  White ink is a pigment ink (like paint) and I wouldn't want to get that all over my Simply Shammy or Stampin' Scrub.
