March 2023 Newsletter - Christine Josti, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Did you know that March has been National Craft Month since 1994? It's creation was intended to help everyone rediscover the joy of crafting. I'm guessing you don't need a reminder to know that crafting has many benefits. But in case you
want some evidence (to prove to everyone else): Research has shown that crafting, regardless of the medium you use, can bolster mood, improve self-confidence, and reduce stress overall. In addition, crafting has also shown to improve mental agility, improves both gross and fine motor movements, and also decrease cognitive
decline.
So, let's get crafting! Happy Creating ✂️ 🖌️ 🎁 Christine Flat Notecards - the Perfect Card to Make, Use & Gift One of the styles of cards I made at my very first stamping class, 16 years ago, were flat notecards. I still love making and using these types of cards and thought that you may too. They are perfect when you need to write a short note, and also make a really nice gift. For the following cards, I used the 6" x 6" Regency Park Designer Paper. I cut the 6" x 6" paper in the following way: The larger rectangle is sized 4" x 5-1/4" and can be used on another card. I used the leftover 1" and 3/4" strips for the following flat notecards. If you are curious on the other supplies I used: Stamp Set - Inspired Thoughts, 155536
Dies : - Stylish Shapes, 159183
- Mini Pocket Envelope, 159167
- Summer Shadows, 156618
I
mentioned above in my subject line that these cards were the perfect cards to make, use and gift. If you want to gift them, then here are three easy ways of packaging: tie a ribbon around them or put them in a box or bag. A Mistake Turned Helpful I accidentally ordered 12" x 12" Basic White card stock instead of the 8-1/2" x 11" pack. Have you ever ordered the wrong
thing??? Anyways, this mistake turned out to be a very good thing! I discovered I can cut six 4" x 5-1/4" layers with this 12" x 12" size with very little waste/left over (the leftover pieces end up being great sizes for sentiment cut outs). This is the size I usually use as an inside layer, but it's also the size I used for the previous flat notecard
fronts. Something for you to think about. You may decide you prefer this 12" x 12" Basic White card stock for your
inserts too. March Madness Mystery Host Month Let's have a March Madness Mystery Host Party!!! For (almost) the entire month of March, all orders placed using host code AKPAAY22 will be entered into the March Madness Mystery Host drawing. One name will be randomly chosen on my March 29 FB live as the March Mystery Host. I'll cover the shipping for all the free products. We did
this in November and December, and those two Mystery Hosts respectively earned $206 and $179 in free products (Stampin' Rewards). The more people who order (enter), the higher the Stampin' Rewards will be. No minimum order is necessary. All you need to do is use host code AKPAAY22 when you place your
order between March 1 - 29. Good Luck! ☘️ Shop here. Color Your Ribbons Unfortunately, ribbons do not come in every Stampin' Up! color (with 53 colors, that would
be a lot of ribbons!). Fortunately, you can color your ribbon any color! Use the Blends Markers to color any ribbon. Blends Markers come in almost every color. Obviously, white ribbons will show the true colors, but you can color any colored ribbons and get different shades. Stampin' Up! created this card, using Light & Dark Cajun Craze Blends Markers. This is my version using Light & Dark Starry Sky Blends Markers: New!!! "Online Exclusives" Products! Stampin' Up! has announced a new product release strategy for introducing new products! New, never-seen-before products will be added to a special section of the online store, called Online Exclusives. These exclusive products will not be found in any catalogs. New products will be added several times a year and be available for longer periods of time. Stampin' Up! plans to use this section of products to stay up to date on new trends and customer
desires. It will be similar to how they introduce new kits each month. Don't worry! Catalogs are not going away. The new Annual Catalog will be beginning on May 1. These Online Exclusives are to supplement the catalog products. Take a peek to see what is new. I would love to hear what you think. Today I will be showing you how to use your Blending Brushes to create a masked background. I think you'll really like it and see how versatile this technique is.
