Do You Know What CASE Means?

You know the expression "why reinvent the wheel"? That's what my email is all about today. So much of card making is copying what others make. Copying exactly or partially. There's even a name for it - CASE. There are different translations for CASE: Copy and Steal Everything or Copy and Share Everything, or Copy, Share and Edit. The point is, we as demonstrators photograph our cards and post them online so that you will copy them, be inspired by them or learn from them. I view it as a form of flattery.

I came across the following cards, made by demonstrator Sue Campfield and loved them all. I could have re-created each of them for new photographs for you to see, but I decided to showcase hers with the CASE mindset.

This first card looks like you are looking through a window! So calm and serene. All of the patterns in this By the Bay Designer Series pack would make great cards with this layout. This By the Bay paper is retiring and currently on sale for $12 (still available as of this writing). The coordinating Seaside Bay stamp set and dies are coming back in the new catalog, but not as a bundle (they will be sold separately). This Fancy Flora Designer Paper is absolutely perfect for this four panel layout! Every pattern in the pack will work beautifully with this layout. Get it while it is still available. The coordinating Something Fancy stamp set & dies will also be carrying over in the new catalog. But, like the Seaside Bay set & dies above, they will not be bundled together. You can save 10% on them until May 1.

Measurements:

Each card uses the same format: a standard card base, a rectangle layer 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" and four equal strips, 1" x 3".

Here's my version:

I kept the template exactly the same. But, I embossed the card base with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. I used the retiring Ready to Ride Designer Paper (on sale for $12) and the He's All That bundle (like the above, this stamp set is currently a bundle and will be sold separately in the new catalog - I love these All That dies).

As you can see, this template is worth CASE-ing!
