My Favorite Color Combination

Last week I introduced my May Color Combination focus. I cut out 8 pages of room designs from the May issue of the Better Homes and Gardens Magazine and am showcasing two a week for the month of May, with the Stampin' Up! color translations. Have you been looking around and seeing color combinations? In magazines, sales flyers, in stores or on people? I love to see color and their combinations and then translate it back into my card making. There are many photos on my phone reminding me of which colors I saw used together. Many years ago, I even took a picture of the Japan restaurant bathroom wall in Epcot because I liked the tile colors they used! Colors and combinations are everywhere.

This was a fun card to design as the color combination includes two of my all-time favorite Stampin' Up! colors: Night of Navy & Lemon Lime Twist.

I looked to see which stamp sets & dies I have that "spoke" to me in regards to this color combination. I had forgotten the Sentiment Silhouettes dies are not all words! Included are candles, stars, hearts, bows as well as silhouettes for 17 phrases.

Polka dots are always so cheery to me and I thought the Dots & Spots die would make a fun background for this bright & colorful card.

You may notice I included a black & white spotted star on the card. That is a nod to the pillow in the design photo this color combination was taken from. I never would have thought of that detail on my own. As you look through magazines, be on the lookout for a fun features.
