July 2023 Newsletter - Christine Josti, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Many of you know about the popular July 4th holiday (which US citizens celebrated yesterday), but did you know about
these lesser known "holidays"? - July 7 World Chocolate Day (you're welcome)
- July 6 International Kissing Day (read below to see how to kiss your stamps together)
- July 12 National Simplicity Day
- July 16 National Ice Cream Day
- July 21 Take a Monkey to Lunch Day (I'm not kidding!!!!)
- July 24
International Self Care Day
- July 31 Happy Potter's Birthday which happens to be on National Avocado Day
There are many, many more of these holidays from the serious to zany, with over 10 for each day of the year. I found them on www.nationaltoday.com. Have fun celebrating these "holidays" over the summer. I bet you can turn some of them into lots of fun. And, if you need an excuse to not do housework, I'm sure there is a day for that too. It's been a while since we've celebrated Bonus Days, but I'm happy to announce they are back and begin tomorrow! There are no limits on how many coupons you can earn. Earn a $5 coupon for every $50 you spend from July 6-31. You will be emailed a coupon code immediately after you place your order (so be sure your email is correct when ordering). Multiple codes will be in the same email. Save the email! The coupons can be redeemed in August. New Online Exclusives Products A few months ago, Stampin' Up! introduced Online Exclusive Products. These exclusive products will not be found in any catalog, but will appear in the online store. You can always
find the direct link under the shopping tab of my website, www.mailsomethingpretty.com. Products will be added at least four times a year. TOMORROW, July 6 you will see a new lineup of Winter Holiday products: an entire stamp set for Hanukah, a One Horse Open Sleigh Suite and an expected favorite, Trucking Along stamp set & punch bundle. And more.... All Online Exclusive Products are while supplies last (sometimes they will bring a popular item back to the store after it sells out). July's Product Spotlight: Multipurpose Liquid Glue I started my Product Spotlight series last month and will be continuing it each month going forward. This month, I thought I would spotlight all of the different and useful ways
you can use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue. If you watch any of my tutorials, you will see me using this glue all of the time because it's my favorite adhesive. In addition, if you purchase a tube of this glue by July 20 using Host Code B3BMDQCP, I will send you a free pdf tutorial (valued at $15)
on creating a Stationery Gift box that holds 10 cards. It's a perfect gift! (I'm thinking it's a great time to get started on making winter holiday gifts). So go ahead and add a tube or two of this Multipurpose Liquid Glue #110755 to your
Bonus Days order and don't forget to add the host code B3BMDQCP to qualify for your free pdf tutorial. Did you know this glue had two tips? A fine
tip on the top & a glue stick on the bottom (shown in above picture) Happy International Kissing Day! Today is International Kissing Day. Have you ever kissed your stamps together? This is one of the first stamping techniques I learned 17 years ago. You need one solid stamp (balloon) and one patterned stamp (stripes). This technique works with both red rubber and photopolymer stamps (I used one of each in this example). You also need two colored inks, one light and one dark (here I used Fresh Freesia and Starry Night). - Ink your solid stamp (balloon) in the lighter ink.
- Ink your patterned stamp (stripes) in the darker ink. Note: you can use any type of stamp, I happened to use a background stamp for this
example.
- "Kiss" the two stamps together (press the two stamps together).
- Stamp image onto paper, giving you a pattern on your solid stamp.
Pretty cool, right? I showed this kissing technique using the Scottie Dog stamp set for Christmas last year and it came out really cool. If you want to see video instruction of
"kissing", forward to the 17.27 mark of this video to see how I did it: Scottie Dog Cards TODAY is the Last Day to Sign Up for My Stamp Club I've sent a few emails with details on my Stamp Club over the last couple of weeks. I hope you have had some time to think it over & decide to join us. So far, 5
brand new people have joined our Stamp Club. Would you like to join too? TODAY is the last day to sign up because Club begins next week. My Stamp Clubs run
for 6 months at a time so the next Stamp Club openings won't be until January. Please ask me any questions and/or let me know you are interested in joining us by the end of the day today. I will be checking my email several times a day. All of the specific details will be sent to all Club Members tomorrow. Clearance Rack Refresh Every so often Stampin' Up! goes through their inventory to see what retired or
overstocked items they have in their warehouses and they put them on sale. The Clearance Rack section of the Stampin' Up! store will be "refreshed" tomorrow, July 6. There are sure to be some great bargains & deals (and you can earn Bonus Days coupons with these products too).
