Since the Designer Series Paper packs (from the catalog, not Online Exclusives) are 15% off this month, I thought I would share an easy sketch with you so you can use your papers (or order more since they are on sale). The layout doesn't use very much pattern paper. It's perfect for using up scraps or getting a lot of cards out of a sheet of paper.

The two longer rectangles are the same size (1-5/8" x 3") and the two smaller rectangles are the same size (1-5/8" x 1/5"). The width of all four rectangles are the same.

Vary up your patterns - use four different patterns, two and two, or even all of the same.

For this card, I used the Country Lace Designer Series Paper. Even though the paper has a little bit of a feminine feel, that doesn't mean you can't make it more masculine like I did here. Who said you can't mix "lace" with some steel (anchor & sea grass from Beaty of the Deep)?

Same paper but completely different feel. Definitely feminine with more lace from the Eyelet 3D embossing folder and a tea cup from the Everyday Details stamp set). As you'll see in the following examples, I really like the embossed look on the card base (love the texture embossing folders produce).

For this card, I used the Perennial Lavender paper, but without any of the lavender coordinating products (because I don't have them). A nice big Hello from the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder ties it all together (well, the Linen thread really ties it together but you get the picture). I used the Fern 3D embossing folder for the Crumb Cake card base.

Another card where I have the paper but not the coordinating products. That's ok! Use what you have. My spotlighted piece is from the same Lily Pond Lane Designer paper as the rectangles, which I created a scene with by cutting the pieces from the same paper. The card base is Balmy Blue and the embossing folder is So Swirly.

This last card is made with paper that is not available yet (but will be on September 4). It's so old fashioned looking and is called Sentimental Christmas. I know that you will see lots of cards & projects made with this special pack of paper because it is Stampin' Up!'s upcoming Make a Difference product. $3 from each pack sold will be donated to a variety of children’s literacy programs in Europe, North America, and the South Pacific. I'll send out more details about this paper when the Holiday catalog goes live.

Just like the Lily Pond card above, I showcased the paper in all elements (four rectangles and the spotlighted circle).
