12 Weeks of Christmas

I love how the US Post Office introduces new stamps fairly often. My stash of postal stamps is almost as big as my assortment of rubber stamps 😀

In addition to the nativity, ornaments, Hanukah and Kwanza stamps this year are the "Winter Whimsy" stamps. When I first saw them, I immediately thought of Stampin' Up! colors: Night of Navy, Gray Granite, Pretty Peacock & Summer Splash (you can also substitute Coastal Cabana & Lost Lagoon). And of course I had to design are card using the stamps as my inspiration.

Week 4 - Celebrate Joy Snowflakes

Instructions

Paper Cutting:

Night of Navy card base 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored in half at 4-1/4”
Night of Navy layer 4-1/2” x 5-1/2”
Triangular strips in length of at least 4-1/4" and no wider than 1/2" in colors: Pretty Peacock, Summer Splash, Gray Granite & White
Inside Basic White 3-3/4” x 5”

1. Adhere multiple colored strips to Night of Navy layer with a 1/16" space in-between. You can do a repetitive pattern or a random one. The side edges will over hang and will be trimmed off later.

2. Let the strips dry.

3. Emboss the entire piece with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder to give it texture (or you can leave it untextured).

4. Trim piece to measure 3-3/4" x 5".

5. Adhere to card base.

6. Stamp "Celebrate" on scrap white with Night of Navy ink and cut out with scissors. Adhere to middle of card with dimensionals.

7. Stamp three snowflakes in each of these inks: Night of Navy, Pretty Peacock and Summer Splash (I stamped on scrap paper first and then stamped on white to give a lighter look for this snowflake). Then I stamped "joy" in Pretty Peacock ink on top of this snowflake.

9. Pop up the Joy snowflake and adhere the other two flat to card.

10. Place rhinestones on the card. I put little ones in the middle of the snowflakes and the middle size on top of the "o" of Joy.

11. Stamp Happy Holidays from Throughout the Year in Night of Navy on the inside white and stamp multicolored snowflakes. Adhere to inside of card.

This version uses the 2024-26 In Color Glimmer Paper #163771 instead of the striped Summer Splash designer paper.
