Can you smell them?

When's the last time you baked cookies & delivered them to someone who didn't expect them?

Last night I baked some anisette cookies for a special 98 year old "lady" who is recovering (brilliantly) after a fall. This special lady is Mike's (my husband's) grandmother and she still lives independently in her own apartment. She did take a fall a little over a week ago and has been a star patient at a rehab facility and will be released home on Thursday.

She LOVES my baking and my cards - she's kept every single one I've mailed her. And because of that, I keep sending her more. She still sends all her kids, grandkids, great grandkids & spouses birthday cards (and who knows who else) because "if you have a birthday, you deserve a birthday card".

The reason I'm writing all this is a long-winded way to say, there will be no live today. I'll be delivering some delicious cookies.

So, who are you going to make & deliver unexpected cookies to?

I did't have any of the traditional colored nonpareils left, but I don't think Pauline is going to care about the pastel colors. I also dip mine in the glaze twice, if you want to do this too, be sure to make a double glaze recipe.
