Last Thursday, my Australian demonstrator friend Ann Lewis and I hosted a joint live talking about joining Stampin' Up!, what it means to be a demonstrator (there's all different types) and all of the benefits. We answered some really great questions as well as talked about our own journeys with Stampin' Up!.
If you missed the live and would like to watch, you can watch it here (please note that it is a bit over one hour).
I have since received a couple of questions that were not answered on the live and thought I would share in case you had them too. If you have
any questions of your own, please ask them! If you have a question, I'm sure someone else has the same one.
Question - I'm confused about the difference in the two plans currently available for sign up? Isn't the first option the best value?
Answer - You are correct in that the first option is the best dollar value.
It's intended for newer crafters who don’t have a lot of supplies or don’t know what to get. By getting two sets of Stampin’ Markers, they’ll have almost half of all the colors Stampin’ Up! makes. However, this option a great value for anyone & everyone. Some stampers may already have the markers in their stash and may not be attracted to this option because they don’t want duplicates. In addition to the two sets of markers and stamp set, they can choose $125 of
products.
Option 2 is intended for those who already have the markers (or don’t want them) and/or have a decent amount of supplies. This option allows them to choose exactly what they want ($155 worth).
Both options are the same price $99 - which is the same price of the kit all year long. Normally, you pay $99 and choose $125 of products.
Stampin’ Up! likes to add incentives a couple times of year, Sale-a-bration being the best incentives (in my opinion).
Question - I'm nervous about not being able to make the minimums needed to stay active. What happens if I don't?
Answer - You are not alone in asking that question. There is a
$300 quarterly minimum to remain an active demonstrator. If you were to join now, your quarter would not begin until March 1 so your first quarter would end on June 30. That gives you 5 months to get comfortable asking for orders, telling people you know you are a demonstrator and/or making the purchases yourself.
Telling people about the Paper Pumpkin is a good way reaching your minimum (or at least helping with
it).
Paper Pumpkin is a monthly crafting subscription that is delivered right to the subscriber's mailbox each month. All they need to complete the projects comes in the box. This makes it great for beginner crafters (and also makes it easier to tell people about because no experience is required). If you had 5-6 monthly subscribers, that would
fulfill the entire quarterly minimum! If you are a subscriber yourself, this will count for you too.
Minimums can be a combination of your own purchases, any Paper Pumpkin subscriptions and/or any orders placed with you.
Stampin' Up! has a wealth of resources on their demonstrator-only website that will help you out. Plus, I'm here to help you out
too!
If you find that you do not meet your quarterly minimum, you will have a pending month to give you a little more time to make up the difference needed. If you still do not meet the necessary amount, you will be dropped as a demonstrator. No penalties, no need to send anything back. And, you can always sign up again.
