Just a quick email today as I have Club coming over this morning. We are going to make this sunflower card and I will also make it on my live today BECAUSE YOU WILL LOVE IT!
Do you remember in art class we did a thing called "black magic"? Or at least that was what I think it was called. I remember in first grade
we colored a picture with wax crayons, an under water scene with fish, seaweed and jellyfish, and then we painted on top of the whole thing with black paint. The wax crayons resisted the paint so you could see it through the black, just like the colors on this sunflower card.
Mrs. Murphy was my art teacher's name and it was my favorite class.
I think this technique must have been my favorite since I still remember it. As an adult, I'm thinking the technique must have been called Wax Resist, but as a child, "Black Magic" sounded so much better!!!!
Tune in live today to watch. I'll show you two ways of "resisting" with sponge daubers and Blends Markers. If you can't watch live,
you can always watch the replay.
Live on YouTube at 2pm ET, 1pm CT, 12pm MT & 11am PT today mailsomethingpretty.com/YouTube
