Today, I thought I would show you how to make an any-occasion card that doesn't involve any stamps. This card is perfect for a beginner, or, for when you need to send someone a card when you are limited on time. No machines involved, just scissors. 10 easy steps!
Since there is so much promotion and showcasing on demonstrator social media pages about the new Foiling System (which is really cool, but not for beginners), I thought slowing it down a bit may be a nice reprieve. I'll talk about and show the new Foiling System in future emails, after I receive mine and have some time to play and experiment with it.
This card showcases the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper.
3. Cut your card Basic Black card base 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and score in half at 4-1/4" (standard card base size).
4. Cut the inside Basic White layer 4" x 5-1/4".
5. Choose a pattern for the front. Cut to size 4" x 5-1/4" and then place two opposite corners in the cutting track to cut on the diagonal.
6. Glue to front of card base. Can put in bottom corner (shown here) or in upper right corner (depending on your pattern).
7. Optional Vellum circle. Punch a circle and place under the vase of flowers. Only use a tiny bit of glue in the middle to place vellum down because it's see-through. You'll
place your vase on top so you don't see the glue.
8. With dimensionals, adhere vase to front of card.
9. Glue white layer to inside of card. Cut a 3/4" x 5-1/4" strip of either matching or coordinating pattern paper to give the inside a little interest.
10. Optional - Stick any gems down on the front of the card.
Bonus step 11 - There are so many vases (2
pages worth) that you can make a whole bunch of cards!!! Since there is no stamped greeting, you can add one when you need to send a card or write your own sweet message.
