Last week I mentioned I was going to give you more details on the September Starter Kit Promotion.
I wanted answer some common questions and share a few words from my team to help you decide or think about if becoming a demonstrator makes sense to you.
Q - What is the definition of a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator?
A - Anyone who purchases a Starter Kit.
Q - What is a Starter Kit?
A - Any combination of products that add up to $125 but you only pay $99. You choose which products you want. Plus, receive a box of catalogs to share, a Paper Pumpkin kit (during September, you will receive a code for a free Paper Pumpkin kit to use after September), free shipping and during September - two different kits of 8 cards each and two stamp
sets to use with these kits and a package of rhinestones (all still for only $99).
Q - Are there different types of Demonstrators?
A - Yes! I came up with 10 different types of Demonstrators and I am very happy to support you in any type and/or grow into another type:
- Buy the Starter Kit and never buy anything again.
- Hobbyist - Purchase your own supplies at a discount. Buy enough yourself each quarter to stay active.
- Hobbyist with Benefits - Purchase your own supplies at a discount plus have a couple of friends who buy products from you. These extra orders earn you a little income plus help meet your minimums each quarter.
- Gatherer - Gather friends together and meet as a stamping group.
- Teacher - Teach classes using Stampin' Up! products. Classes can range from 2 to ten+ people.
- Event Planner - Facilitate events such as Open Houses, Crops, Stamp Camps and/or Retreats with pre-designed projects, mini-classes, goody bags and prizes.
- Leader - Combine any of the above with starting your own team of Demonstrators. Teams can be as little as one or two people.
- Part time - Maintain another job (or full-time mom) plus be a part-time Demonstrator earning an income by either selling products and/or teaching classes/events.
- Online - Have a blog, do videos, practice social media and sell products only online (no in person classes/events).
- Full time/Career - Turn being a Demonstrator into a full time, full income earning job. This option combines many of the above 10 types.
Q - How do I stay an active Demonstrator? Is there a minimum amount to order?
A - Yes, to remain an active Demonstrator you need to meet the $300 quarterly minimum. That is an average of $100/month* (you have the whole quarter to meet the amount, there is no monthly minimum). If you don't meet the quarterly minimum, you will go in pending
for one month. If you don't meet the minimum after the pending month, you will be dropped. No penalty, no giving anything back, no risk. You can even sign up again by purchasing another Starter Kit.
* All Demonstrators start out receiving 20% Instant Income. This could be 20% income from an order, or many refer to this as a 20% discount (when you buy the products yourself). There is an opportunity to increase this to 25% as well as volume rebates and team commissions if you do more than be a hobbyist. If you are a hobbyist only, then the $100 average
monthly minimum is really like $80 because of the 20% discount.
I asked my team of Demonstrators (I have 15 direct demonstrators (first line) and 4 second line demonstrators on my team two questions that I thought may be helpful for you to read. Here are some of their answers:
Why do you like/love being part of Stampin’ Up!?
- I love the ability to create on my own time and share with others by sending cards.
- There are endless ideas shared by Stampin' Up! in weekly emails and on their site and from other demonstrators all over Pinterest & Instagram.
- I love the discount on great products.
- Favorite is the discount.
- The friendships that will last a lifetime.
- I love being part of a group of really nice people.
- I love how I don't have to be an expert! I'm learning all the time from everyone.
- I really enjoy our Zoom calls.
What was your biggest concern before joining and did you find it still a concern after you joined?
- Since I just do this as a hobbyist, I don’t really have any concerns.
- Pressure to sell which has not been a problem. I do wish they would offer a hobbyist starter kit without all the business materials. The catalogs are fine but I hate to waste all that other stuff.
- It was hard to believe that you could join and not be pestered to sell. Even more surprising is that you can rejoin and do it all again and again, never a hassle.
- Thought I would get bored, wow was I wrong!!!
- I was really worried about meeting the quarterly minimums, but I'm still active so it hasn't been a problem at all since Stampin' Up! keeps coming out with new awesome catalogs!!!
What do I offer as a Team Leader? Our team is called Wicked Stampahs.
- Friendship plus open, welcoming and supportive arms no matter which type of Demonstrator you are. My first team member signed up with me ten years ago and has remained a hobbyist. I have other team members who teach classes and would like to grow within the company. We are a diverse and awesome group with different reasons of why we joined, why we stay and what type
of demonstrator we are.
- Weekly emails.
-Bi-weekly team Zoom calls - creative, get-to-know each other, business tips and what's going on in the Stampin' Up! world. 1st Thursday of month at 10 am EST and 3rd Thursday of the month at 7 pm EST.
- When it's not COVID time, local members meet 3-4 times a year.
- Wicked Stampahs Facebook Group
- Availability and guidance. Call, email or text me anytime with any type of question. Want more? 1:1 calls by request (for now on phone/Zoom, hopefully in person later).
- I would love to be your cheerleader!
I hope the above answers some of your questions of what it means to be a Demonstrator. There are almost 60,000 Demonstrators in ten countries around the world. There is a reason why so many join - it's awesome to be part of such a great, people first company. I'll tell you a secret......Stampin' Up!'s goal is to reach 100,000 demonstrators in ten years. Help them meet
their goal by joining today.
They are making it even easier to join during September by providing additional free products in your Starter Kit. These extra products were specifically chosen to make it easier for you to share creativity with your friends/family. The two card kits provided are an instant class or demonstration. Everything is pre-cut and designed, all you have to do is stamp and stick
together (or change up to make it a completely new design). Put the cards together as a little group, or if you can't meet together, assemble them yourself and mail to someone you think may like to try stamping. No pressure, they just made it easy for you to share the cards in several ways.
I would love to chat with you about stamping and joining and answering any questions you may have. Email, text or call me and we can set up a time where we can chat. My info is at the end of this email.
If you want to read a little bit more (I know this is a really long email) or ready to sign up - you can click here for more info and the link to join -
