Whew! What an amazing World Card Making Day!! Did you make some cards?? Are you ready to mail them?? Stampin' Up! has challenged us to send 60,000 cards world wide between now and Sunday. There is still time to make and send your cards.
Congratulations to Denise, who won the $50 World Card Making Day Raffle. She was very excited!!!
If you haven't had a chance to see all the videos, pictures and posts from World Card Making Day (48 of them), you can see them all on my Mail Something Pretty Facebook page.
Do you Miss Gathering with Friends?
I know I miss stamping in person with many of you. How about gathering online (on Zoom) to create with friends and family? The Christmas Countdown Kit is the perfect project for this. All you need is the Kit and a bottle of Glue (dimensionals
optional). Facetime or Zoom each other and put your kit together. Everything is pre-cut and stamped, all you need to do is adhere with glue. Good for almost any age.
Getting together in person for Thanksgiving? This would be a great project for pre or post turkey. You can even supply the candy and/or write each other notes to secretly slip into the boxes.
Teens need an after school or weekend activity? Bake some cookies and they can each make their own countdown.
You can also decorate the back sides for a different countdown or storage system - get two uses from the same kit! See page 6 of the Holiday catalog for photos.
Some communities are deciding not to hold trick or treating this year. But, you can still celebrate and hand out Halloween treats even if this is the case for your community. Drop some treats off to neighbors mailboxes, front steps or even in the mail. Kids of all ages (adults too) will love to
receive some handmade treats.
This treat box is made with the Hallows Night Magic Bundle, 155188, which includes both the stamp set & dies.
These Halloween Magic Dies are not just for Halloween! I love the two tag dies because you can use them for many other uses. As you can see, I made the same box using the dies, but for different occasions.
I even used the same Halloween stamp, but covered over the webs with flowers.
You can turn the flower into two flowers by cutting away the top layer. More versatility! Glue the thin outlined flower onto a solid color and cut with scissors to fill it in.
One more way to use these tag dies is to turn them into actual gift tags. I used the Trimming the Town Designer paper, 153491 to create gift tags. You can make bookmarks out of these dies too!
Here are a few more samples using the Trimming the Town Designer Paper I showed on World Card Making Day. This Trimming the Town paper is one of the papers on sale this
month. One side shows town scenes/people and the other side is graphics. Use the paper alone, as I did here, or use it with the coordinating Coming Home Bundle 155144 (Coming Home stamp set & Home Together Dies).
