March 2021 Newsletter - Christine Josti, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
Happy March & National Craft Month! I wonder if a gardener decided March should be National Craft month? Get a whole lot of projects done and build up the stash of cards in March so you can go outside and plant flowers & vegetables for the next few months. Sometimes I have trouble dividing time between crafting and gardening. I can definitely
see the logic in this idea.
I tried to give you several duplicatable card ideas in this months newsletter. Cards that you can copy by looking at the pictures. There are a lot of pictures in this email, so be sure to read/scroll the whole thing. Keep checking back to my blog too. I have been staying on schedule with 3 posts a week.
Happy Creating!
Christine
Create & Mail Some Luck this St. Patrick's Day
My friend used to create a whole lot of Leprechaun mischief in her house the morning of St. Patrick's Day and my daughter used to ask how come that didn't happen at our house. I told her that we weren't Irish so they didn't visit our house. An easy way out I know, but we did a whole lot of other fun things other times of the
year (you know once you start something you have to always do it). My daughter didn't seem to mind so St. Patrick's Day always went unnoticed in our house.
But, Leprechauns and green and rainbows are fun so I thought I would give you an easy St. Patrick's Day card to copy (or tweak to make your own).
I used the leaf die from my Pretty Perennials dies and cut off the leaves. I just wanted the stem. You could look around to see what you have, or even draw a line with a marker or free hand cut a stem. I used Soft Suede.
In the above sample I layered two green hearts together to create one clover leaf, Granny Apple Green & Shaded Spruce. You want to use 4 hearts to create a 4-clover shamrock. The heart I used was a little narrow, so I overlapped the 4 points to make it a fuller shamrock.
The smile came from the Cute Fruit stamp set, but you can always use a pen to draw your own. I used an eraser tip from a new pencil to stamp the cheeks. You can stamp on the Glitter paper too! I think this smiley face would make a great center to a yellow sun too.
I used the Basic White Notecards & Envelopes, but you can use a standard card size too.
Supplies Used:
Stitched Be Mine dies, 151814, $35
Cute Fruit stamp set,153301, $16
Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, 14667
Rainbow Glitter Paper, 153056, $6
Basic White Notecards & Envelopes, 159232, $7 (20 notecards & envelopes)
March is National Crafting Month!
Not that WE really need a designated crafting month, but we can join in with the celebration and sharing of ideas.
In honor of National Crafting Month, I am going to send you a Sketch & Sample for each Saturday of March. I will create a sketch (template) along with a sample or two. Sometimes we just need a starting place and a sketch is a good place to start. Follow the sketch exactly or use it as a reference.
I would love to see what you create with the sketches. Post your samples on my VIP facebook page. Not a VIP? Click here to sign up - https://www.facebook.com/groups/MailSomethingPrettyGroup/
Butterfly Bouquet - Now Available
Stampin' Up! is pre-releasing a bundle that will be featured in the upcoming 2021/22 Annual Catalog. I had the opportunity to pre-order the bundle and LOVE it (who doesn't love butterflies???)
The Designer Paper will not be in the upcoming catalog. It's only available now & while supplies last. There is no doubt in my mind that this paper will run out.
One sheet of the paper lines up perfectly with the dies so you have six instant butterflies with one cut!
Bundle - stamp set & dies, 155821, $54.75 (saves 10%)
Stamp set only - 155092, $17
Dies only - 155523, $44 (12 dies)
Butterfly printed paper - 156824, $11.50. 48 sheets of 6" x 6" paper.
Natural Touch paper - 156825, $5. 2 sheets of 12" x 12" paper.
Next week I will send out a tip on mounting this large butterfly stamp.
Here are two identical cards I made using the paper and dies. I cut the butterflies out of the patterned paper too. The embossing folder is called Meadow Moments, 153126 and is in the annual catalog. I think the two folders in the set both work perfectly with the butterflies.
Strawberry Punch is Backordered
I wanted to give you an update on the Strawberry builder punch, one that I used quite often in January. It was so popular that it sold out. But don't worry! Not only is it coming back in stock this spring, but the punch and matching Sweet Strawberry stamp set will both be coming back as
a bundle in the new annual catalog - just in time for fresh strawberries.
Easy Masculine Birthday Card
I had a few birthday cards I wanted to send to some male friends this past week and discovered I didn't have any in my stash. So, I looked to what I had that is masculine (not much, so I need to get some more). I love using the largest stamp from Happiest of Birthdays, 152539, $19 because the stamp is so large, you can use just that and some
decorative paper. Makes it a quick & easy card. This is what I came up with using the Well Suited Designer Series Paper, 154562, $11.50.
Using my Stamparatus made stamping this large stamp super easy. And it allowed for quick multi stamping so I could make multiple cards. If you don't have a Stamparatus, you will need Acrylic block E.
