Have fun making your non-traditional cards!
SAG Awards on trend with Stampin' Up! Glitter Paper
Even though Sunday night's SAG awards were virtual, there were all sorts of high trend outfits from elegant evening gowns to specialized loungewear. This outfit caught my eye because it looks exactly like Stampin' Up!'s Rainbow Glitter Paper!!!! This is Leslie Odom Jr. who was nominated for his role in One Night in Miami. Love how SU is
so on trend (and I love him too).
Colors - Outgoing & Incoming
Color is such an important part of who Stampin' Up! is. Color coordination and consistency helped build Stampin' Up! to be the company they are today - you know that the same named color of paper, ink, markers, ribbon and jewels are all made from the same dye color. They pair colors together in their Designer Series Paper packs which you can use as recommended color pairings - no guessing
required.
Each year, Stampin' Up! introduces 5 new In Colors that last for two years. It's always so exciting to see and use the new In Colors. But, this also means that we have to say goodbye to the retiring ones.
Below are both sets of colors.
There's not many products left in the outgoing retiring colors (they always go fast this time of year). To see what's still available, click HERE.
Which color do you think will become your favorite? I haven't decided yet, but I do love each of them. I think my all-time favorite color, Night of Navy, will pair beautifully with each of them. I'm very excited for my new colors to arrive in the mail on Thursday. One of the perks to being a demonstrator is you can
pre-order new products!!!
7 boxes of new Annual catalogs will be delivered to my house at the end of this week. So exciting!!!!!! If you are a Club Member or have placed an order with me within the last 6 months (since October), you will be receiving a complementary catalog, no need to do anything.
If you do not fit into these two categories, but would like a copy of this new catalog, I would love to give you one.
Please fill out this google form requesting a copy.
Catalogs are free, however, I am requesting $5 to cover part of the postage. I will return your $5 after you place your first order. US Residents only. After you fill out the google form, I will send you a payment link.
If you are local, you can pick your catalog up from my front porch with no charge. I'll let you know when they are ready.
If you can't wait until May to order new products, you can add pre-order items as part of a Starter Kit. Awesome, right?
If you are interested in purchasing a Starter Kit in April, I can send you the link to which pre-order items can be added to a Starter Kit. Reply back to this message, send me an email or call/text.
This link will tell you a little more about what being a demonstrator means and what is a Starter Kit:
Sponge Daubers - 3 Ways to Use Them for Coloring
I think Sponge Daubers get forgotten, at least they do in my crafting. They are a great & inexpensive tool that can really add dimension and texture of color. I created 3 cards for you showing 3 different ways of using them (and there are more ways).
Use Sponge Daubers to color in an image. The beauty of this technique is that it's not precise and exact. It's okay to go outside the lines (it really looks nice when you do).
Butterfly Brilliance stamp set, 155092. Sold as a bundle too with the dies (both returning as a bundle in the upcoming Annual catalog).
Thank you from Happy Thoughts stamp set, 154507 - Retiring at the end of June.
Colors used: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie & Poppy Parade
You can use the dauber to color the edge of a tag too.
Color (& blend) the background with daubers. Here's my trick with this card: stamp the lighthouse on your paper and sponge on top of and around the image. This gives a smoother look rather than just coloring up to the edge of the image. Then add a cut out of the same image and pop it up with dimensionals. I colored the rocks & light on this cut out image as well.
Sailing Home stamp set, 149457. Smooth Sailing dies, 149576. (these two are returning in the upcoming Annual catalog)
Balmy Blue card base. Sponge colors: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight & Smoky Slate.
Create polka dots! I used the same Daffodil Delight ink for the dots and the card base, but you could make all sorts of colored polka dots.
Cute Fruit stamp set (one of my FAVORITES), 153301, retiring at the end of April.
Sponge Dauber storage. You can store them in a zip lock bag or container of any sort. A friend gave me this box years ago (along with the print out of colors her husband made - thanks Tracy & Hal). I am sure you can buy similar boxes at any craft or hardware store.
I also like to put Washi tape (or masking tape) around my dauber and write the color on it so that I know which color that dauber is. Many inked daubers look the same.
You can wash these daubers in the sink too with soap & water to re-use again. Air dry. There may be staining, but they will still work great. The softer the touch, the longer they will last.
Cool Kit for Kids (& grown ups)
Each month, Stampin' Up! produces a monthly all-inclusive crafting kit called Paper Pumpkin.
Paper Pumpkin is a One-Stop Box™ of creative fun for crafters of all skill levels! Each month, subscribers receive a thoughtfully-themed, seasonally-appropriate kit with all the pre-cut elements needed to create a fabulous paper project—from unique cards and gift tags to treat boxes and more. This monthly subscription service offers a unique and
carefully-curated selection of project kits in a wide range of artistic styles. This gives subscribers a chance to explore new, creative techniques in a fun, relaxing way. It’s the perfect opportunity to build creative confidence.
It's also a great way to build your stamp & ink collection - all stamps are reusable and you get a different colored mini ink each month. I used an old Easter Paper Pumpkin stamp set for treats this weekend.
So, what makes the April Paper Pumpkin kit so "Cool"? This vivid, summer-inspired kit includes two full sticker sheets and all supplies needed to make 12 fun-shaped cards with matching envelopes. But, even more cool: it’s the first Paper Pumpkin kit designed with kids in mind!
Do you have kids or grandkids? This kit offers the perfect way to engage little ones and spark their imagination while introducing them to the fun of paper crafting.
The So Cool kit is a fresh, versatile, and fun taste of summer that stampers of all ages will want to savor. Keep reading to learn more!
Watch this quick video on the kit and see a few glimpses of the popsicle cards.

Congratulations to Chris who won the March incentive host Stampin' Rewards. She won $78 in free products!!!
Thank you to everyone who participated. Those who did received a handmade card and email from me last week with a special April ordering incentive as a thank you for participating.
Chris can choose to spend her Stampin' Rewards dollars on any products of both catalogs, exclusive host sets, or put these dollars towards a Starter Kit.
Last chance items (from the current Annual Catalog) are available until May 3 or while supplies last. Link to remaining: Last Chance Products. Some items are on sale, and some are not. My guess is, there may be further reductions taken later in the month, BUT, that is my guess AND you run the
risk of something running out if you wait for a sale. If you want it, I suggest buy it earlier than later.
You will see almost all of the bundles on the list - this does not mean they are all retiring - just the bundle option (of saving 10%) is retiring (although some of the actual products are retiring).
Products in the January - June catalog are available until June 30 (that retirement list will come out later).
Thanks for reading this far!!!
