I was busy over the weekend getting this email together for you. As you are reading, we are on the road to Pennsylvania to drop my daughter off for her first year of college. I'm so excited for her!!!! Huge possibilities await for her these next four years. As for me, it will be a long ride home. But, I also have something exciting that awaits me. On Friday, Stampin' Up!'s Leadership
conference begins. I'm really looking forward (albeit virtually) to getting together with other demonstrator leaders, home office staff and external speakers - some I know, some I admire and some I don't know yet. I'm looking forward to learning and then implementing all I learn (with all the newly found spare time I will have with a quieter house).
To those who are dropping children or relatives off to college these next few days & weeks - good luck!!!!!
Your Favorite Sale-a-Bration Products (so far)
It looks like the top two Sale-a-bration products (so far) are the Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper and Counting Sheep stamp set. There are still 5 weeks left of Sale-a-bration, so we'll see at the end of September which are your favorites.
To see all of the Sale-a-bration products (remember, they are free with a qualifying purchase during August & September) - click HERE.
I am also giving away a FREE Online Class featuring the Delicate Dahlia stamp set with $100 orders during August & September. After my Leadership Conference, I will send out more details with photos. Even if you don't choose the Delicate Dahlia set as your free choice, it will be more of a technique based class, so you can substitute your own stamps.
Since the Sale-a-bration favorite (so far) has been the Beautifully Penned Designer Paper, I thought I would make some samples for you to see. I also used the Summer Shadows dies (which didn't make the above chart). I will admit, I couldn't stop making variations.
The really cool thing about this pack of paper is you get 4 sheets of each of the 3 designs. Less hoarding more using!
The sketch of this card is a standard card base, larger 3-3/4" x 5" layer and smaller 3" x 3" layer with flower and label. The variations below use the same or similar measurements.
I used a 1/2" circle punch to layer a third color between the white outline and solid background. Stampin' Up! no longer sells the 1/2" circle punch, but there are die sets that have small circles (or you can buy one at another craft store). I really like how the offset color works with the three layers. I did this for all of the
cards.
I set up a color challenge on my VIP facebook page this weekend using three of these colors: Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green & Night of Navy (such a great color combination!). This was my card. I encourage you all to become my Very Important Papercrafters by joining - www.mailsomethingpretty.com/VIP. It's a great place to post pictures, ask questions, comment on others' projects and be part of a great community of paper crafters.
This one is a little more subtle, with a hint of color. I am in love with these flowers from the Summer Shadows dies (11 dies total) . This set of dies is free with a $100 purchase. The Beautifully Penned paper is free with a $50 purchase. Or, place a $150 order and get both (or other selections of course) plus $15 in Stampin'
Rewards.
I did make one more card, but it's part of my Monthly Sketch program (tease!). If you would like to hear about this Sketch program, you can read more about it here. Never again will you have to come up with your own design. Each month you will be emailed a new sketch and each week you will get a new sample using that sketch. Save
them so you can use them in the future. Use my sketches and your own papers and stamps for endless card ideas.
