Thank you for Supporting Cystic Fibrosis
On Sunday, 14 women came over to create birthday cards, enjoy birthday cake and stamping fun, all while supporting Cystic Fibrosis. My daughter, along with her softball team, will be walking in the annual Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis walk
on May 19 as part of "Dommie's Dream Team. This birthday fundraiser class, along with raffles and two outside donations, raised $295! WOW! Thank you to all who came, donated and created. It was a great afternoon and as my aunt said, who was a first time stamper, "this REALLY is a lot of fun. I never knew". Card making and rubber stamping IS a lot of fun and IS about making connections with other people, and on Sunday, also
supported a great cause.
Even if you weren't able to attend, you can still enjoy the delicious birthday cake we ate. It was the 2019 King Arthur recipe of the year (we made a double batch of frosting to make it nice & thick and to have a little bit extra to sample):
Mail Something Pretty Online Classes are Now Available
I feel like it's been a long time coming (& a whole lot of learning on my part), but I am finally able to announce that I am now offering Online Classes. These classes are available to everyone, whether you live near or far, are a new time stamper or
are a demonstrator. You will have unlimited access to these classes and can watch as many times as you wish. Each class has multiple videos showcasing that topic, theme or technique. Currently, there are two classes available and I hope to add one class each month. If you have an Online class idea/topic for me to add, please reach out to me and let me know what you would like to learn.
The current two classes are: Shaker Cards and Gift Card Holder Cards.
Stampin' Up! created the hashtag #simplestamping about a year ago to help stampers search for inspirational simple card ideas. Stampin' Up! wanted to make stamping easy and duplicatable for everyone - not just those who already know what they are doing, so they
created a "simple stamping" movement. Simple stamping usually involves only stamps, ink, paper with an optional one more thing (could be ribbon, designer paper, certain color, etc).
A lot of us go to Pinterest looking for ideas, but did you know you can search just by placing the "#" in front of the phrase you want to look up? Type #simplestamping in the search area (URL bar) and 79,100 ideas/images pop up. That's a lot of simple stamping ideas!!! Many images for you to copy. That's why we post design ideas online by the way, for you all to
copy. In the stamping world it's called CASE: Copy and Share Everything.
You can search for anything this way. As long as someone has posted their idea with the # you want to find, it will come up. You could search for ideas on planting tomatoes by typing #planting tomatoes and 10,800 tomato ideas/images pop up. #lovelylipstick shows 12,100 entries, #stamparatus shows 17,000 results. The hash tag searching is endless. You may just
want to set your timer so you can get a little stamping done too, you don't want to search the day away.
