New Possibilities for Designer Paper

Since there is a Buy 3 get 1 Free Designer Series Paper Sale going on in September, I wanted to show you some alternate ways of using patterned papers. Do not be afraid to alter your Designer Series Papers! You can stamp on them, run them through your die cutting machine to give them texture with embossing folders, or color them with your Blends Markers.

I linked each of the products to my online store for your convenience. I also used papers that are part of the sale. (Chart of sale papers is at the end of this post)

I saw this tip from another demonstrator. Turn the Magnolia flowers from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper into Pointsettias! All you need to do is color over the flower with a Cherry Cobbler Blends Marker. This technique will work for many papers. Look at the images with new eyes.

Use your embossing folders to create physical texture. It's an added element for background papers without much effort. On the left is paper from Woven Threads with the Stylish Scroll embossing folder. On the right is paper from Garden Lane with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. It's a soft texture and may not show up too well in a photograph, but it's very striking.

The third example shows stamping directly on the patterned paper. You can stamp and leave it as is, or color in the stamped images with your Blends Markers. In this example I used the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper and Christmas Gleaming stamp set.

Did you notice that I converted two papers into Christmas papers? I used the Magnolia Lane and Pressed Petals and changed them into Christmas. Look at the papers and find new possibilities.
