Hello April!!! We can use some of your bright & cheery flowers to distract us from staring at the same four walls. Let's hope for some April sunshine instead of showers so we can stretch our legs, dig in the dirt, reading a book in the sunshine and enjoy nature
walks. We can save our crafting for the rainy days (which are sure to be plenty because, let's face it, it's April). This is a picture of one of my hellebores, one of the first spring flowers to bloom.
One of my team members is a nurse at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. Not only has she been super busy as a nurse, she has been making cards like crazy to give to as many nurses as she can to brighten their day. She asked me if I could help her get cheery cards to the nurses at BWH. Her goal is to give one card to every nurse, 3500 of them. Can you
help?
Each card should:
- include a note inside
- be placed in an unaddressed envelope
- can be any size because they will be distributed by the charge nurses
You can either drop them off in a collection box on my front porch, or mail them to me and I'll get them to Michelle.

Thank you!
5 Layouts to Create Cards with Paper you have at Home
Has the cleaning bug hit you yet? Have you discovered way too many scraps of patterned paper in your stash? Let me help you use up those scraps! I came up with 5 templates that use patterned scraps and a white card base. Use these templates as a starting
point. If you come up with more, please share them with me as I still have a lot of paper to go through.
If you don't happen to have a Paper Trimmer yet, I highly recommend Stampin' Up!'s new version. It cuts and scores beautifully, is lightweight, durable and portable, for when you get to craft with friends again.
Believe it or not, Easter is less than two weeks away. Even though we are housebound, we can still bring homemade to the holiday. I made this video for you to see how easy these triangle boxes are to make. They sort of look like carrots (even though the carrot
greens are attached to the wrong carrot end), but use your imagination and supplies to turn them into any theme).
Do you know what a hashtag is?
A hashtag is simply a keyword phrase, spelled out without spaces, with a pound sign (#) in front of it. For example, #SpringFlowers and #ChocolateLovers are both hashtags. You can put these hashtags anywhere in your social media posts: in the beginning, at the end, or anywhere in between.
Why are they used?
A way of making it easier for people to find, follow, and contribute to a conversation. You can put the hashtag phrase in your search engine, or click on an existing hashtag because all hashtags become links.
#SimpleStamping
Stampin' Up! created #simplestamping as a challenge for their demonstrators to create clean and simple cards for beginners to copy. Each month they create a simple stamping challenge that has only 3-4 elements. You can do a search of all the simple stamping designs by either typing in #simplestamping in your search engine (google, bing, etc.), or by clicking on an existing
hashtag. For the # link to work, it must be posted on a social media site such as facebook, instagram, pinterest, blogs, etc. Clicking on one in an email, such as in this email, will not link anywhere.
April's #simplestamping challenge is to create a birthday card using stamps, ink & paper.
Here is my entry. If you read the above article on the 5 templates to use your paper, you will see that I used one of those templates by cutting the shape of the dinosaurs out of the paper.
So, if you are ever looking for simple and clean card ideas, be sure to check out #simplestamping.
I posted this picture on my Facebook page last week. I wanted to share how I have been sealing my cards with water rather than saliva. I got a lot of other helpful suggestions I thought I would share with you too:
- Aqua Painter
- Paint brush
- Sponge
- Tape
- Wet paper towels
Let's keep each safe and worry free with our cards!
I saw this version on Facebook from another Demonstrator and thought it was clever. I may have to copy it!
