Welcome Spring!
Image
I know it's not exactly spring yet, and it really doesn't look like it when I look out my windows - but it's coming.  I try to be a half glass full type of girl.  There are a few signs of spring if you really look for them.  A month ago I saw this same bunch of daffodils at Trader Joe's for $4.99.  I bought these on Sunday for only $1.49 - I actually bought two bunches and put them in multiple rooms for something pretty to look at.  I also just heard the word "rain" mentioned on the weather report (although I heard the word "snow" mentioned too).    Another sign that spring is coming!  Here's one more.  Daylight savings time begins on Saturday (March 7)- don't forget to turn your clocks ahead.  We'll lose an hour, but we'll gain some afternoon sunshine.  Definitely worth losing that hour.

I encourage you to welcome spring into your crafting life too.  Have you looked at the "Build a Bouquet" project kit?  Truly beautiful.  You could even do what I did with my daffodils and split the flowers into multiple bouquets, present toppers or little nosegays for Mayday baskets.  There are so many fabulous spring items in the 2015 Occasions catalog - be sure to take a peek again with spring in mind.

Product of the Month
The 2013-15 In Colors are my product of the month.  There are several products that go with these colors: ink pads, ink refills, card stock, thick baker's twine, background designer series paper stacks and the sequin assortments.  As you can see by the 2013-15 date, these colors (and their products) won't be with us much longer.  If you love any of these colors, you may want to consider stalking up on your favorite products sooner than later.  In the past, retiring colors are assigned a "while supplies last" label and my prediction is they will they will sell out well before June 1.  I am not looking forward to saying goodbye to my favorite Coastal Cabana.
New Sale-a-bration items added
Each second Tuesday of the month, Stampin' Up! releases a new photopolymer stamp set.  It's fun to have new products to look at, isn't it?  I just love using photopolymer stamps too because they are so clear you see exactly where you are stamping your image.  They are also so sticky that you never need to worry about the stamp falling off your block.
A few things to remember about photopolymer stamps:
  1. Sitting in direct sunlight too long will turn the stamps yellow.  They'll still work fine.
  2. Using paper towels or kleenex to dry them off will attract the lint to the sticky part and will become less sticky.
  3. Staz-on cleaner is not recommended.  If you use a Staz-on ink, just know that the stamps will be stained but will work fine.  Or, just use Memento ink and that will wash right off.
  4. Be careful when putting the stamps away, they are so sticky they may "get lost" and stick somewhere you aren't expecting.  I've found some of my stamps stuck to the outside of the stamp cases and my scrap bag.
These monthly released sets are guaranteed to be available for 6 months after their release date. After 6 months, they are while supplies last.  They are packaged in a cello bag w/insert, but you can store them in SU clear size DVD cases (set of 4 empty stamp set cases is $5.95 #119105).  If you are interested in past sets, let me know and I will send you images of them.
This set, Lovely Amazing You, has 8 stamps and is $14.95 #140594.
A Cool Photopolymer Technique!
Another benefit of the photopolymer stamp sets is a technique I learned at Leadership.  I don't think it has a name, maybe we can come up with one.  The reverse technique?  Backwards stamping?
It won't work with every image but a lot of them.  The image needs to be somewhat symmetrical.  Usually you will place the stamp on your block and stamp, right?  I want you to put the stamp on your block backwards - have the image of the stamp touching your block.  Ink up the "back" of the stamp in a lighter shade ink and stamp on your paper (whisper white will work best).  Clean your stamp and turn it around.  Using a darker ink, ink up your stamp and stamp right over the lighter image (don't forget, you can see right through the block and stamp).  Instant shadow effect.  Give it a try, you will love it.
New Sale-a-bration Items Added!
I'm excited to tell you that Stampin' Up! has added FOUR new items to their free Sale-a-bration offerings.  Two stamp sets, an accessory pack (matching twine & buttons) and 24 sheets of 6 x 6 printed vellum.  I can't wait to get my hands on that vellum.

To earn any of the free Sale-a-bration items, all you need to do is purchase $50 of products (if you purchase $100, then you get to choose 2 items and so on and so on).

These, along with the other Sale-a-Bration items are exclusive to Sale-a-bration and will never be seen after March 31.  Place your orders before March 31 if you don't want to miss out.
March is National Craft Month

Better get crafting this month!  Not sure what to do?  Only have a little time here and there?  Let me suggest Paper Pumpkin.
I know I've mentioned Paper Pumpkin before, but great things are worth mentioning more than once - that red box arriving in your mailbox each month - all materials included - easy to follow directions - exclusive stamps (photopolymer) - mini inks - it's a little escape when you want to do something, but don't have the time to plan, design and then create.  The planning and designing is already done for you.

What are you waiting for?

Paper Pumpkin is on sale right now!  We all love a sale, right?  You can purchase a 3 month pre-paid subscription for the sale price of $54.95 AND receive a free Sale-a-bration item.  What could be better?  (you can even purchase more then one to really enjoy the savings).

Even if you are currently a monthly subscriber, you can still take advantage of this offer.  After you purchase the 3-month pre-paid subscription, you will receive a redemption code.  go to www.paperpumpkin, log in and enter the redemption code.  Your regular monthly subscriptions will be placed on hold during these 3 months.

Chance to win a kit - Everyone who purchases a 3-month pre-paid subscription will have their name entered into my raffle.  I have two past kits that I will raffle off .  If you purchase 2 subscriptions, your name will be entered twice, and so on.  Good luck!

Save the date:  April 12, 2-4pm.  I will treat you like the crafty royalty you are.  This is my first ever thank you event.  So far, 8 people have qualified and a few are real close.   This event is FREE, but you can only EARN your way in:

1.  Host a Sale-a-bration workshop or private class during Sale-a-bration.  Don't forget hostesses can earn an additional $25 of products if their workshop is over $250.

2.  Purchase a Starter Kit during Sale-a-bration (Choose a free Project Kit or two free Sale-a-bration items as a perk).

3.  Spend at least $150 during the months of Sale-a-bration (I'll keep track for you).

You may bring a friend to enjoy the afternoon with you (for a small fee of $5).  If you can not attend, I will be sure you still receive all the goodies from the day.

Hostess of the Month
Image

Deb G. is the stamp club hostess this month.  If you are planning on placing an online order this month (that is less than $150), please consider using the hostess code to help Deb earn more hostess dollars.  The code is  UBAJYU9H and you can enter it on the shopping cart page (lower left corner of the page).

Each month I have a stamp club member who is a hostess and would love to have you join her order.

If you are planning on ordering products more than $150 - this purchase automatically qualifies you as your own hostess and you can choose your own hostess products!

Last month I mentioned Jason Wright was the featured speaker at the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference.  His presentation was recorded and is now available for anyone to watch.  I highly recommend taking an hour out of your busy day to watch and see how powerful the written word and a letter is.  You will both laugh and cry (but don't let that stop you).  Here is the link to: http://jasonfwright.com/recent-speaking-clips

Blendabilities Issue
Image
Stampin' Up! just announced that they are having quality issues with the Blendabilities markers.  Because they want to be sure only great products get in our hands, they have turned the ordering off for all Blendabilities until they resolve the problem.  Any backordered markers will not be fulfilled at this time and you can no longer select blendabilities as your free sale-a-bration item.  As disappointing as this may be, I am looking on the bright side that Stampin' Up! wants us only to have superior products.  They truly are great markers.

This does affect the upcoming Blendability class, so it has been postponed until a later date.
Happy News
I love it when you share good news with me, so I'm hoping you'll feel the same as I share my good news with you.  I was just notified that one of my cards was chosen as a winning design at the Stampin' Up! Leadership conference last month!  To say the least, I was very excited.  I got to choose a free stamp set as my prize.  (If you are curious, I chose "And Many More" p. 20 of the annual catalog.  You can never have too many sentiments).  Here is my design:
