Summer Edition
Are you enjoying your summer?  After the long winter we had I certainly hope you are.  I hope it's full of beaches, ice cream, walks in the woods, cookouts, bare feet, reading, gathering with friends/family and of course, creating.  Be sure to schedule in some stamping time in addition to all the other fun summer activities you want to do.  There are several ways you can do this. Spend a little "me time" with those crafting supplies that have been sitting in storage.  Take out your Paper Pumpkin kit that you have been meaning to get to - the last few kits have been great cards that you can make up and have ready to mail off when you need them.  Choose one of the 9 kits in the new catalog and host a "ladies night".  All of the kits are designed to be quick and easy to put together, which would give you plenty of time to create and catch up with one another.  And lastly, you can host your own Stampin' Up! party.  Invite friends over to your home (or you could use mine) for a fun night of creativity and earn a little something for yourself with Stampin' Rewards.  I have lots of August nights (and days) available.
Product of the Month - Fringe Scissors
I am falling in love with these fringe scissors.  Mine just arrived last week and I'm using them in two ways for two cards at my upcoming Birthday card class.  True to their description, they make fast and easy fringe and grass (which will soon become a favorite technique) and you can also use them to make quick and easy confetti by cutting in two directions.  I can't wait to discover more possibilities using these fantastic scissors.  #133325, $10.
Did you know?
Stampin' Up! created a new feature on their online store called Project Ideas.  They show 17 projects from the catalog with all of the supplies listed with what you need to make that project.  No longer do you need to guess what color they used or which stamp set, etc.  Take a look HERE to see if any of these projects inspire you.

Are you a fan of Mail Something Pretty's Facebook page?
I frequently post photos of cards, videos, links to stamping related topics, shopping deals, class dates, and more on my Facebook page.  Please "like" my page and be in the know.  Be sure to tell me what you think of my posts and add your own comments too.
Made in the U.S.A.
Stampin' Up! is a strong supporter in producing as much as they can in the U.S.A.  All of their stamp sets, ink pads, papers, envelopes and catalogs are made right here in the United States.  Way to go Stampin' Up!  Not only are you supporting a local business when you purchase Stampin' Up! products (me), you are also investing in our own country.
Stay Tuned....
I am in the process of creating a YouTube channel and filming videos to help you with your paper crafting needs.  I have to admit that it is a little out of my comfort zone and feels a bit scary, but I am sure that you will be supportive and kind viewers.  If you have ideas that you think would be a helpful for you and others to watch - please send them to me and stay tuned.  christine@mailsomethingpretty.com

Upcoming Classes

Birthday Cards, Tuesday, July 28 at 10 am and 7 pm.  Make 6 colorful (two of them "shakable") cards for $20.  RSVP ASAP.

Christmas in August, Thursday, August 13 at 10 am and 7 pm.  Your choice to make 6 cards for $20 or 12 cards for $30.  We will be focusing on the Wonderous Wreath set (which is a Christmas set, however, it doesn't have to be).  RSVP by August 11.

Adhesive:  To keep my class prices low, you will need to provide your own adhesive.  I will tell you which types you will need prior to class.  I will also have Stampin' Up! adhesive for you to purchase during a class in case you don't have any or run out.

Cancellation policy:  If you need to cancel with less than 48 hours until class time, you will still need to pay the class fee.  However, you may choose to have a kit made up for you to complete on your own, or I can complete the cards for you.

Upcoming Events in the Fall
I will be hosting several product-based events/classes on holiday decor (a fabulous Halloween hat centerpiece & beautiful 3-season wreath), card gift sets and Christmas tags.  These projects are based on products in the new upcoming Holiday catalog.  Pre-registration will be required because you will be taking products from the catalog home with you after class.

I will also be hosting a Stamp Club.  This Club will meet on the first Sunday of the month for six months beginning in October from 6:30 - 8 pm.  We will make three projects not to be taught at a class. If you are unable to make the meeting, I will make the projects for you.  Each Club member will place a minimum order of $25 in Stampin' Up! products and rotate being a hostess and earning the Stampin' Rewards for that month.   If you are interested in joining this awesome Club, please let me know.

I can't show you photos of anything in the new Holiday catalog yet, but trust me - you are going to love it and want to make everything!  So we better get an early start.
