September Newsletter

Published: Tue, 09/08/15

Hello September!
As much as I loved Summer, I am happy to be getting my family back to a routine.  I had projects on my shelf just waiting for me and now I can (hopefully) get to them before the kids come home from school.  Believe it or not, Fall and Winter Holidays are fast approaching - although it is hard to believe today with the 90+ degree weather.  Now is the time for us creative people to get creating so that we can actually enjoy it, right?  Rather than rushing to get it done. I planned out my class calendar this year way in advance hoping that you and I can both get things done early (and having fun doing it).  Take a look at the choices I am offering, and if you want something a bit different, we can plan a private class for you and your friends.
Product of the Month - Watercolor Wishes Card Kit
I wanted to highlight this Kit last month as my product of the month, but it was on backorder BECAUSE IT WAS SO POPULAR!  It is now off backorder and ready to be delivered to your home.  This kit includes an exclusive stamp set of 12 versatile stamps (only to be purchased with this kit), two mini-inks (Night of Navy & Watermelon Wonder), an acrylic block to use with the stamps, washi tape, wooden butterfly embellishments, dimensionals, tags to stamp on, already watercolored card bases, and envelopes.  The only thing not included in this kit is white glue for the butterflies (and who doesn't have that) and postage to mail your beautiful cards.  I encourage you to buy at least two of these kits - one for you and one (or more) to give as a gift.  You don't even have to wrap it because it comes in a lovely, giftable kraft box.  #140406 $35.
I am Looking for Club Members (near & far)

When your wish list is longer than your grocery list, it’s time to join the Club!

Club is a terrific way to budget what you want over a period of 6 months and get perks and bonuses from me along the way.  At our meetings, you will learn new techniques & make 3 exclusive projects, not seen in any classes.

The first meeting is the same weekend as World Card Making Day - what better way to celebrate than be creative with fellow Club members!

If you want to be a part of this great Club, but you can’t make some/all of the meetings - that’s okay!  I will make up your projects for you.  You can make arrangements to pick them up, or if you live too far away, you can cover the postage and I’ll mail them out to you.

Meetings will be at my house on the first Sunday of the month, 6:30 - 8pm:

October 4, November 1, December 6, January 3, February 7 and March 6

How it works:

Each Club member will submit a $25 order at the meeting, or prior if you can’t attend.

Each member will be randomly chosen to be the hostess of the month and receive the Stampin’ Rewards (minimum $15) for that month.

Attend the meetings, make great projects, eat yummy snacks & have a fun time with great women.

Holiday Catalog is now Live
Wait until you see inside this fully-packed Holiday catalog!  So many styles, so many kits, so many new products, so many ideas!  My advice to you is, look through it a few times.  The first time to ooh and ahh.  The second time to start dreaming of what you want to make and the third time to get serious about what you really want to make and make your supply list.

I sent a whole bunch of catalogs out last week.  If you didn't receive one and want one, please let me know and I will get one in the mail to you.  I did put a virtual copy of the catalog on my website www.mailsomethingpretty.com.
RSVP by September 11 for the Witching Hat Centerpiece Class
You are just going to love this Witching Hat!  Photographs just don't do it justice.  The class is on Friday, September 25 at 10 am and 7 pm.  The class fee of $30 includes your hat kit, the use of my Witches' Night stamp set, inks and adhesives.  *If you can't attend the class, but want to make your own hat in your own home, you can still pay the class fee and I will do the stamping for you.

Or, you can also order your own supplies:  hat kit #140969, $22 and Witches' Night stamp set #139708, $26.  The kit recommends ink colors: Soft Suede and Black, adhesive: tear & tape and multipurpose glue.
Please RSVP by September 11 so I can order the kits in time for class.

Did You Know?
Stampin' Up! has made some changes with their new Annual Catalog.  One of these changes is you can now apply your Stampin' Rewards (formally known as Hostess Benefits) towards the purchase of a Starter Kit!!!  This is great news because the Starter Kit is a fabulous purchase/value!  The Starter Kit is $99 and includes $125 of products (you choose what you want), free shipping, business supplies including a box of 8 catalogs to share with friends.  Any future purchases you make will be at a 20% discount (with a future potential of 25% off).  You are under no obligation or contract to make any future purchases, but I will tell you there are so many great reasons to be a part of the Stampin' Up! family that you don't want to miss out.
This Week's Weekly Deals
Each Tuesday, Stampin' Up! announces their weekly deals.  This week, there is a lot of sparkly and shiny silver products which are great to use for the holidays.  Take a peek and order soon before everyone else does.  New products were also just added to the Clearance Rack section for even better deals.  Ordering can be done here.
3-Season Wreath
My daughter and I put together this 3-Season Wreath and I am in love with it!  She did all the curling of the leaves and I used the hot glue gun (with only a few burns).  I love the whimsy of the newsprint - a little vintage, a little modern and just enough holiday without screaming holiday.  Three garlands come with the kit - Halloween bats, Autumn acorns & feathers and Christmas Trees.  Don't be surprised if I leave my wreath up all year round by adding my own Valentine Hearts, Easter Eggs, Spring Flowers and 4th of July Stars.

A tip:  You do not need to cover the back of the wreath with leaves (like I did before reading the directions).
A second tip:  If you do not want to use a glue gun, common pins  would work just as well (and maybe less dangerous) as a glue gun.  The base of the wreath is styrofoam.

I am teaching this class on Thursday, October 15 at 10 am and Friday, October 16 at 7 pm.  Class fee is $35 and an RSVP is needed by October 1 so I can order the kits in time.  Same thing goes as the Halloween Hat class, if you can't attend either of those times but would like the wreath, I can do the stamping for you and you can assemble at your home.  Or, you can purchase your own kit #139645, $27 and Cheer All Year stamp set #139839, $25 with recommended inks: Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Black.
