November Newsletter

Published: Wed, 11/04/15

Hello November!
I took a walk today and I have to admit, it felt like Spring - except the leaves are golden instead of green.  Don't let this mild weather fool you - November is here!  Fall brings beautiful colors, an exciting football season (go Patriots!), comfort food - who doesn't love roasted vegetables, and the beginning of the crazy season Holiday season.  Happy Thanksgiving!  Be sure to schedule time (sometimes that's the only way) to just "be" with those you care about.  Give out your gratitude and receive it from others, whether it be in the form of a word, a card or a gesture.  I think it feels just as nice to give thanks as it is to receive it.  So, thank all of you for being a reader of this newsletter, a class attendee, a Stampin' Up! customer and/or a team member.  I love what I do and couldn't do it without all of you!
Product of the Month - Expressions Natural Elements
A little 3D can go a long way.  These 3 wooden sentiments from the Expressions Natural Elements can do just that.  You can use them as they are in their "natural element", or you can color them with your ink (using a sponge dauber, a spritzer or directly in your ink pad).  Just add a little tombo multi-purpose glue to the back and they'll stay right in place.  15 pieces in each packet (5 each of 3 designs).  #138395 $5.
Save the Date for Black Friday Bingo!  It's definitely going to be a fun night.  Don't forget to register by Nov. 13.  Prizes will be based on the amount of registrations.
Two Thank you's for Making a Difference!
Thank you to those who placed orders to support the Norwell Girls Softball team.  I just wrote a check in the amount of $132 to help with the fields renovation.  That was 20% of all the orders placed for the month of October!

A second thank you to those who are Paper Pumpkin subscribers.  Stampin' Up! made a donation on your behalf in the amount of $36,378 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (they donated $1 for each subscriber and $2 for each new October subscriber).

All little things do make a difference!  Thank you!!!
Heat & Photopolymer Stamps Don't Mix!
Not only are the photopolymer stamps super sticky, but they melt too.  I noticed while making my tea the other night that there was a leaf stamp (from my Lighthearted Leaves stamp set) sitting right next to my gas burner.  It must have stuck to something then fallen off onto the stove when I was bringing it to the sink to wash.  Oops!  Let my accident be fair warning to you all.
Global Design Project
A few weeks ago a few talented Stampin' Up! demonstrators got together and launched a new site called Global Design Project.  They put out weekly challenges for anyone to participate in and then post the three winners.  The examples and winners have been fantastic.  Be sure to check out their site and maybe even participate in a challenge.

Thank you Veterans
Wednesday, November 11 is Veterans Day. Would you like to thank a Veteran?  You can make this super easy card with a star punch (or framelit). Be sure not to include any glitter with your card.  Guidelines and suggestions are listed on their websites.  Here are two organizations you can send your cards to (any time of year):

Holiday Wish List
Does anyone ever ask you "What would you like for Christmas (or Hanukah or Birthday)?"
Do you ever have an answer?
Don't we all want more Stampin' Up! products?
Put those answers together, fill out my Holiday Wish List and be prepared.  You can give this list to your loved one and I will be Santa's helper.  You can print the list here:  http://mailsomethingpretty.com/wish-list/ or ask me for a copy.
Pumpkin Muffin Recipe
Image
Doesn't it seem like everyone is talking Pumpkin?  I thought I would share a super easy, healthy and delicious pumpkin muffin recipe.  I do like to do complicated baking, but sometimes it's nice to have a shortcut recipe:
1 box Spice Cake Mix
1 can pumpkin
2 eggs
Mix them all together and bake 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
They freeze beautifully.

A Personal Note
Image
The motto of Stampin' Up! is "Create, Share, Inspire".  I hope I touch upon those 3 verbs in my newsletters each month.  I am going to do a personal share here.  Today is my 20th Wedding Anniversary!  I'm a lucky girl to have married a great man (who has never complained when I have all of you over to stamp), to live in a house we literally moved from down the street and customized to be our own, and to have two wonderful children.  It hasn't all been easy, but it's been a great road traveled.
