April Showers bring May Flowers (& more showers)
We've been a little soggy here in New England, but like any good New Englander, we make the best out of it.  I have been busy in my studio getting ready for the retirement list, the launch of the new catalog, preparation for classes, planning some new classes and preparing this Newsletter.  I'm looking forward to sharing these events with you.
Retirement List - We need to say Goodbye to some Favorites.....
In order to make room for all the new, we need to say goodbye to some of the old.  This time of year is always a bittersweet time.  Be sure to check this extensive list to see if anything from your wishlist is on it - I don't want you to miss out on some of the products saying goodbye (and some of them are on sale up to 50% off).

Here are some of my favorites that are leaving:
-2 Way Glue Pen & Crystal Effects
-Black embossing powder
-All of the Bundles (paper bundles, punch & stamp set bundle, stamp & die cuts bundles)
-All of the patterned papers
-Kits (the only returning kit is Watercolor Wishes kit)
-Embellishments like the cute tiny clothespins & all brads
-Some punches, die cuts & embossing folders

Be sure to take a look at the entire list:  Retiring List Link.  All retiring products are while supplies last!
Card Stock Price Increase
While you are taking a look at the retirement list, you may also want to take inventory of your paper stash.  There will be in increase of price from $7 to $8 for packages of cardstock beginning June 1 (Whisper White and Very Vanilla packages will increase by 50 cents). The colors are remaining the same (except for the retiring 2014/16 In Colors) so this may be a good time to stock up on your paper and save a little money.
"You're So Lovely" Class-to-Go
We were challenged at Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event last month to add one event each month for the next 6 months.  My May calendar has little wiggle room, so I decided to offer my first "Class-to-Go" as my extra May event.  All you need to do is sign up/order the class kit and the supplies will be mailed to you along with instructions.  This is a great class for beginners.

Your Class-to-Go kit will include:
-You're So Lovely photopolymer stamp set (p. 32 of Spring Occasions catalog)
-a package of rhinestones (150 adhesive backed gems)
-a roll of Bermuda Bay 1/8" stitched ribbon (10 yards)
-one sheet of dimensionals (100 count)
-paper, notecards and envelopes prepared and cut to size to make 8 cards

Supplies you will also need to assemble the cards.  (You can add on these items to your class kit if needed):
    -Bermuda Bay ink
    -Watermelon Wonder ink
-adhesive (snail, fast fuse or even glue to stick paper to card)
-Clear block (all stamps will fit on a D size block)

All you need to do is email me by May 17 that you would like a Class-to-Go kit.  I will mail it out to you once I receive & prep everything.  Class cost is $42 plus shipping.  If you would like any add on any items, please include that in your email.  I can accept credit cards (we can arrange a phone call for you to give me your information) or a check.  For future Class-to-Go kits, I will have a paypal function set up.  You can email me here with your order or any questions:  christine@mailsomethingpretty.com.  Please RSVP by May 17.
Make 2 of each of these cards and keep the stamp set & supplies for future papercrafting. Customize your cards from the kit to suit your needs.

How Can You Pre-Order New Products Now?
Image
Did you know that if you join the Stampin' Up! family during the month of May you can choose any of the pre-order items (and regular catalog items) as part of your Starter Kit?  Everyone else needs to wait until June 1.  For only $99 you can choose $125 of products and receive free shipping (as well as many other perks). Questions?  Please ask me!!!
Do your Photopolymer Stamps get Un-Sticky??
I find that when I use and handle my photopolymer stamps a lot, they lose their stickiness (and that's one of the benefits of photopolymer).  I discovered that all you need to do is wash the back of the photopolymer stamp with dish soap and your fingers and leave it to air dry.  The stickiness will return!  Be sure to never use a paper towel (or towel with lint) to dry, because the lint will stick and undo all of your work.
The 101 on Hostess Codes
A hostess code is a way to connect an online order to a hostess workshop/party thereby increasing her rewards for hosting a party.  Not all friends can attend a party, but do wish to place an order.  Or, if you are placing an order on your own, you can use a hostess code and have it be a "random act of kindness" for a hostess.  In all of my upcoming newsletters, I will publish a hostess code for you to use (or you can always just ask me what it is).  If you forget to use it, please don't worry.  I can call Stampin' Up! and get it connected after your order is completed.

While shopping, click on the "Shopping Bag" link (shown here with the arrow).  You can do this before you put things in your cart, during, or at the end of shopping - but before checking out.
On the Shopping Bag page, you can input the hostess code in this box on the bottom, left of the page.  Then click apply.  That's all you need to do.  Easy, easy.
May's Hostess Code:  JXF3GSXY

Facebook Hint - I've been busy posting away on my Facebook page with lots of photos.  If you haven't been seeing my posts in your feed, then you will need to "like" one of my posts periodically (rather than just look at it).  Facebook has an algorithm (that I totally don't understand) set that if you don't "engage" a.k.a. like or comment in a post, that person/page will disappear from your news feeds.  I really don't want you to miss all the great things I share, so please like and comment often.  (By the way, I love it when you comment!).
To find my Facebook page - Search Mail Something Pretty in the facebook search bar or click the below "f".
