Caramel Popcorn
I expect a big thank you for this gift idea I am giving you (insert smiley face).  This caramel popcorn is amazingly delicious and my family & neighbors look forward to it every year.  My husband refers to it as "crack popcorn" because it's so addictive.  Warning: it's not diet friendly.  Before I share the recipe, I want to point out a few things about my wrapping.
I put the popcorn in these awesome, spacious 6: x 17" cellophane bags.  I have not seen this size bag in any stores, and they are the perfect for this popcorn, a loaf of bread or that hard to wrap item that is easier to bag than wrap.

There's a big trend of using black & white for Christmas decor this year.  Stampin' Up! made this easy with their designer papers and ribbons.  There are actually two offerings of black and white designer paper in the 2017 Holiday catalog:  Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper (the one I used here) and Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper.   I used two different black ribbons: Basic Black 3/8" Shimmer ribbon and 7/8" Striped Ribbon which is wired and easy to shape.  I have to admit, Stampin' Up!'s ribbon is incomparable to any and the yardage goes on and on.

Did you notice that Silver foil snowflake?  These are the best snowflakes that come in a $6 pack of 24 - 12 gold and 12 silver.  They are so versatile - use them for packaging, decor, cards, table settings and so on.  I white embossed the Christmas greeting on vellum (I love vellum) and added a splash of color with cherry cobbler.  A very festive look without the traditional green & red.

Caramel Popcorn Recipe
2 sticks butter
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 c Kayro syrup
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 - 1 cup peanuts/nuts (optional)
6 quarts plain popcorn

Melt butter in heavy saucepan and stir in sugar, Kayro syrup and salt.  Bring to boil stirring constantly.  Once at a boil, continue to cook without stirring for 5 minutes.  Remove from heat.  Stir in baking soda and vanilla (mixture will expand).  Pour over popcorn and mix well.  Place in oven and cook at 250 degrees for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

Helpful hints:
1.  I like to use the large, rectangular disposable pans to bake the popcorn.  Spray with cooking spray before adding plain popcorn.  This makes clean up easy.
2.  When putting the caramel on top of the popcorn, I use a laddle for easier distribution.
3.  I often make double and triple batches at the same time.
