Give the Gift of Hot Chocolate

A Final Idea for Hot Chocolate
For me, hot chocolate is synonymous with winter.  I always put hot chocolate packages in my kids stockings (there are so many flavors to choose from).  Every time we come in from playing in (or shoveling) the snow, we make some to drink and warm up.  And whipped cream is always in our fridge as a drink topper.  I thought I would show you one more way to give the gift of hot chocolate since it's a gift to give anyone.

You need to begin with a base piece of card stock (I used black) size 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored in half on the 4 1/4".  A piece of patterned paper 5 1/4" x 4" and a belly band strip 2" x 7" (I also used a second belly band strip 3/4" x 7").

Next you want to cut a triangle piece from each piece.  I measured down 2 1/2" on the right side, made a mark and then cut to the opposite side with my paper trimmer.  If you want to use scissors, use a ruler to mark your line first.

Adhere the patterned paper to your base.  To close your pocket, I used tear & tape (you can use another strong adhesive like fast fuse) to seal the short and bottom sides.

You are almost done!  I adhered my little strip onto the belly band and inserted two Mini Ghirardelli Peppermint Barks into the 2 x 8" cellophane bags.  If you don't have the bags, or can't find the mini chocolates, the regular ones slip in just fine too.

Insert your package of hot cocoa into the pocket, put the chocolate in place and then wrap the belly band around and adhere with a strong adhesive.  I made a mitten tag for my pocket too.

You can give this hot chocolate gift as is to a neighbor, bus driver, hostess, add it to a gift, or insert a gift card.  Have fun making these easy & fun pockets!
